If you have made your list, checked it twice, and are still short on gift ideas for friends and family, let us inspire you. Our expert senior buyer Laura Barringer created a beautiful gift list for this holiday season – you will be able to effortlessly cross off every name on your list!
For the busy mom
Overbooked moms deserve some sparkle, though they may not have much time to think about their jewelry. The answer? No-fuss options that can be worn on the go. “You can drop off the kids at school, answer the phone, or go for a run wearing this pendant and earrings,” Barringer points out. “They are perfect everyday diamonds.”
For the first-timer
A sweet, sentimental pendant or ring is just the thing for a young person who is hoping for her first piece of fine jewelry. Barringer’s picks feature clusters of diamonds in the shape of a heart. “A guy could give one to his first sweetheart, or a girl would be thrilled to get one of these pieces from her parents,” she says.
For the dad
Don’t forget dad this year! Stray from the typical tie and gift your dad or father-in-law a gorgeous Movado Bold, a TAG Heuer Formula 1, or a Tissot Heritage Visodate Automatic. All three timepieces are attractive, powerful, and a great gift during the holidays. A classic men’s stainless steel bracelet or a pair of titanium cuff links is a great everyday wear for your dad.
For the mother-in-law
To impress a woman with a sophisticated sense of style, Barringer suggests jewelry that puts a special twist on familiar designs. A pendant and earrings in tanzanite, diamonds, and gold hit the mark. In exotic, rare tanzanite, the pieces are “elevated classics,” she explains. “And everybody loves blue. It’s the most popular color there is.”
For the fan of fashion
According to Barringer, there are two styles that will delight the trend-savvy names on your gift list. “Bolo bracelets are a lot of fun and popular because they stack so well. It’s easy to wear multiples. And they’re adjustable to fit securely on the wrist,” she says. Ear climbers are another top contender. A black diamond pair are “neutral but still eye-catching. They’re contemporary and cool but not too far-out.”
For the person who has everything
Even if someone has an extensive collection of jewels, she will still fall for imaginative new designs. Pieces featuring a mosaic of princess-cut sapphires and diamonds “will look unique and exciting, even to someone with a lot in their jewelry box,” explains Barringer. “Plus, most women don’t own an unusual style like threader earrings.”
