Performance aspects such as high robustness, easy readability and maximum precision are deeply rooted in IWC's DNA as a watch manufacturer. With the Pilot's Watch Performance Chronograph, the company presents a chronograph that has been uncompromisingly optimised for performance. This version is dedicated to the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team. IWC has been the “Official Engineering Partner” of the team since 2013. The 41-millimetre case and the case back ring are made of Ceratanium®. Developed by IWC, this lightweight material is based on a special titanium alloy and combines the lightness and structural integrity of titanium with a hardness and scratch-resistance similar to ceramic. An outstanding functional feature of the watch is the ceramic bezel with a tachymeter scale, which allows the wearer to measure the average speed in relation to the distance travelled. Matching the polished black ceramic bezel, the model features a black dial with a glossy finish. The recessed totalizers, the hands and the applied indices and numerals in blackened nickel, filled with Super-LumiNova®, provide additional depth and ensure excellent night-time readability. The Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 is powered by the IWC-manufactured 69385 calibre. This mechanical chronograph movement consists of 242 individual parts and is visible through a tinted sapphire glass case back. Its bi-directional pawl winding system builds up a power reserve of 46 hours in the mainspring. Column-wheel control of the chronograph ensures that individual phases in the switching sequence are clearly defined. There is also a distinct tactile resistance when the buttons are pushed. The chronograph features the IWC-typical vertical subdial layout. The stopped minutes are displayed directly at the 12 o’clock position, enhancing readability. Water-resistant to 10 bar, the watch with a durable and waterproof black rubber strap with a Ceratanium® pin buckle.

IWC provides a standard 2-year International Limited Warranty and extension of an additional 6-year coverage by registering your watch through 'My IWC' after your purchase, totaling to 8 years.

Give your watch a quick check on a regular basis, wiping down the face and bracelet with a soft cloth, checking the leather on a strap, and making sure that the strap or bracelet is firmly attached to the watch face. Also, while many watches are water resistant, few are truly waterproof, so if you find that moisture or dust has penetrated the case of your watch, bring it into your local Ben Bridge store where we can have one of our watchmakers clean it out for you.

Our best advice on watch maintenance is to never attempt do-it-yourself repairs, no matter how handy you are or how good the instructions are on Youtube. Watches are super complex little machines and only an expert watchmaker should be trusted to get a watch back into working condition. Attempts by an untrained repair person may seriously damage the watch and can even invalidate factory warranties.

In general, having your watch checked regularly by your Personal Jeweler or watchmaker and serviced according to the manufacturer's guidelines should keep it in excellent shape.
