One of the main characters from Apple Original Films’ F1® is Sonny Hayes, a former driver who returns to Formula OneTM alongside his young teammate Joshua Pearce. In the movie, Sonny Hayes is wearing a bespoke watch based on the historical Ingenieur SL, Reference 1832, with a striking green dial representing his signature green colour. This prop watch served as the inspiration for a special edition of the Ingenieur. Limited to 1000 pieces, the Ingenieur Automatic 40 with a stainless steel case and bracelet features a “Grid”-patterned green dial with gold appliques – a similar color code and combination that is worn by Sonny Hayes in the movie. The golden hands and the gold-coated metal markers are filled with Super-LumiNova®, ensuring perfect legibility in all lighting conditions. A hallmark design feature of the Ingenieur is the characteristic bezel, which is secured to the case ring with five functional screws. Offering exceptional wearing comfort, the integrated bracelet with a butterfly folding clasp attaches to the case via its middle links. The Ingenieur Automatic 40 is powered by the IWC-manufactured 32111 calibre with a power reserve of 120 hours and water resistant to 10 bar. In keeping with the tradition of the Ingenieur, a soft-iron inner case effectively shields the movement against the effects of magnetic fields.
